I was very fortunate to have found Mary at Fairwinds when we had to make an extremely difficult decision of putting our beloved dog, friend and companion down. Mary was able to recommend a mobile vet who came to our home on short notice when none other had even bothered to return our calls. Mary also came to our home to pick up Chopper after he passed over. She treated Chopper with such love, care and dignity, I really could not have asked for better service.
I would have never thought that such services existed for pets. They treated our baby boy like they would with a family member.
I highly recommend Mary and Fairwinds Forever for funeral and memorial services for pets. I'm glad I had the opportunity to say goodbye to our beloved companion in a way I never thought possible. Marisa

Mary,
We just wanted to say thank you again for being there for us and our sweet fur baby, Marshall. It was one of the most horrible nights of our lives and you came out to our home in the early morning hours and took such compassion with our boy. I am so thankful that you suggested that we all spend a few minutes with him at the office that day. I think we needed that more than we knew. He is so greatly missed. He was a truly special boy and meant the whole world to his mommy and daddy. We took his ashes home to Tennessee in the beautiful box you put him in and laid him to rest. Thank you so much for all that you did and for us and his little brother, Meatball. You are a very special person for helping people take care of their babies when they go. We look forward to getting our glass keepsake. Thank you with all of our hearts--Shawna, Scotty, and Meatball Carver
Dear Mary,
Hanns & I want to thank you for taking such great care of our boy, Bruin. You did such an amazing job with him and we were so pleased with the funeral service. It was such a great sense of closure to see him laying there like a king. He looked absolutely beautiful! Sincerely, Lisa & Hanns

Dear Mary- We have been intending to write you for several weeks, but only now have been able to put our thoughts into words. As you are aware, it's impossible to prepare for this sort of experience until you've lived it. Thank you so much for the tenderness and respect you demonstrated handling our precious boy- also for the kindness and understanding you offered us as we struggled to let him go. During one of the most difficult times in our lives, you genuinely made a difference. by Heather C. - 04/06/2010

Dear Mary, Today marks two weeks since I lost my beloved Mr.Bo. I want to tell you how much your "being there" helped me to plan, prepare and make final arrangements. Without Fairwinds facility, I would have never been able to spend extra time with Mr. Bo, time that is invaluable to accepting his departure and the grieveing process. Thank you for your kindness and genuine understanding. God Bless.
Compassion and Comfort on One of the Worst Days of My Life... by Maxx' Mom - 03/15/2010
3 weeks ago, Maxx, our 4 year old Shih Tzu, died suddenly and unexpectedly due to an undiagnosed medical issue. My husband and I were in shock but Mary's compassion and caring helped us through one of the worst days of our lives. Mary gently placed Maxx in a basket with blankets and tied a heart around his neck. We, along with our other 4 yr. old Shih Tzu, were allowed to spend as much time as we wanted with Maxx before saying our farewells. Knowing that Maxx was being taken care of so lovingly made it easier to leave him at Fairwinds. Mary suggested that there might be some things of Maxx' that we would want cremated with him. Maxx was cremated with his blanket, some toys, a bag of treats, some family photos and a goodbye letter that I wrote to him. We miss Maxx terribly, but because of Mary's wonderful care, we are more at peace with his death. Anyone who wants their best friend treated with respect, dignity and love should go to Mary at Fairwinds.
The Best Place Ever! by Richelle - 12/09/2009
My best and most sincerest thank you goes to Mary and Fairwinds. This is such an incredible service ran by the most caring and dedicated woman. Mary is incredible. She provided me with the closure I needed with the loss of my lab. Mary was truly the gift we needed to help us. I can not recommend this place enough. She is truly a special person.
Thank you for making our loss bearable. by Jeanie & Barb - 11/22/2009
We were out of town when we learned our baby girl Chihuahua Xena had been mauled by a coyote in the middle of the night. After the decision was made to put her to sleep, we couldn’t bear the thought of having her cremated with many other animals. We met Mary through the LGBT Chamber and instantly bonded. Mary is kind, compassionate, empathetic & loving. She retrieved our Xena from the animal hospital and called us the minute she had Xena in her care. We flew home knowing we would never see Xena again. Mary asked if we wanted to view Xena before the cremation. Our imagination was rampant and we didn’t want to see Xena hurt and bloody, so we said no thank you. Mary explained that she prepares a loving atmosphere and would clean Xena, covering her wounds with a beautiful blanket. She encouraged us to bring Xena’s bed, a few toys, but most importantly the other animals in the family. So we did! Also, many of our dear friends came to pay their respects too. Our other animals were i
I couldn't have asked for more! by Sox's Mommy - 11/16/2009
My sweet, sweet Sox recently passed away. She was 20 years old and suffered from diabetes and renal failure. She suffered a lot but was a real trooper to the end. My vet gave me Mary's name at Fairwinds and I'm so glad she did. Mary was wonderful with in helping me cope through such a trying time. She was very compassionate and understood my emotions and let me express them freely. She took excellent care of Sox preparing her for my final good byes. When I saw Sox in her cute little basket with pillows all around--she even had an adorable pink ribbon around her neck--I couldn't believe how peaceful she appeared. With Mary at my side, she made this experience much easier for me. She's absolutely wonderful and the right person for this type of work!!
Comfort during a sad time! by MBurberry - 10/21/2009
Mary provided my husband and I the comfort that we needed during a horrible time that we went through. We watched cancer, and the treatments to try to stop it destroy the body of our precious, energetic and loving 4 y/o weimie. Senna was our baby and Mary helped us treat her that way until the moment we said goodbye. She made her look so at peace in her little basket, she did not look sick at all. She let us bring her favorite toy to place with her and the necklace she gave us that matched the heart around Senna's neck provided more comfort than you would ever think. I recommend this service to anyone, and if we decide to get another pet have to go through this again, Mary would be our first call. The prices were great considering the services offered!
A ray of light in my darkest hour! by T Weis - 10/12/2009
Kudos to Mary!!! OMG, did she ever turn a rough, horrible, painful day into a "best case scenario." I had just suddenly lost my beloved Great Dane the night before...in the yard...and in the am it was already over 100 degrees by 9 am. I called Mary, and she and her husband were there within an HOUR! Even from the other side of town! Everything was done with such dignity...from the stretcher with a blanket, to the pink bow they put on my baby, to the "heart" necklace they left me with. Best were the hugs. I would recommend this service to anyone!!! It was a Godsend.
Saying goodbye is never easy, but Fairwinds really does help by Vicki F. - 10/07/2009
Having to say goodbye to a beloved pet is extremely hard. I adore my vet, but putting an animal down, and having that experience be the last memory of my "baby", is not what I want to remember. We have used Fairwinds on 3 occasions, and will continue to use them in the future. Mary is warm and compassionate, and is very understanding of the love between you and your pet. She treats the animals with respect and kindness. Choosing to say the final goodbye at Fairwinds is more comforting than you can imagine. Your beloved is placed in a basket, covered with a soft blanket. The room is like being in a den; books, plants, candles, soft music, chairs to sit in and reminisce about the better days. We have never felt rushed, and were given all the time we needed to say our last goodbyes, and give the final hugs and kisses to our pets. I cherish the services provided by Mary and Fairwinds, and highly recommend her to anyone wanting to say goodbye to their pet with dignity and love.
Unique and exceptional by jocisne - 10/06/2009
Having had a sick animal for the past two years and knowing that the end was would soon come, I first met wtih Mary six months ago, knowing that I wanted something special for my best friend when the time came. I was immediately impressed with Mary's caring nature and the thoughtful services she provided. She has truly thought of everything and I knew that she was the one I would call when the time came.Unfortunately, my best friend's end came on 9/19/09. I immediately called Mary. She was very compassionate and caring during my time of grief and allowed me to spend as much time as I needed with my beloved pet. My precious "baby" was lovingly placed in a wicker basket, covered with her blankie and her head rested on a pillow. A heart on a pink ribbon was placed around her neck and she looked at peace. I knew that she was in good hands and would be taken care of in a loving manner.I have two other dogs and I know that when their time comes, I will be calling Mary. I can't im

The hardest decision by MzMarple - 10/05/2009
One of the hardest things I have ever had to do was put down my dog and cat....at the same time. I called Mary and got the most compassionate understanding person. She walked me through the entire process and even recommended a vet to come to my house. She made a very sad experience bearable. All I can say is Thank you and I would recommend her time and time again. Connie
Mary- I recieved the poems today. They were absolutely beautiful! They certainly brought tears to my eyes, remembering my little Sox, but they also reminded me that rather than tears, I should be happy because we shared so much love and joy while she was here. Thank you again for all that you have done to help me through this difficult time. I will never forget you. You're wonderful and I will be more than happy to spread the word about you and your great company.
